About Our Church

From the time he received the call, Pastor Adu started with serious prayers. He sought the help of four church leaders with whom he shared his vision, and they knew it was of the Lord. He met regularly with these leaders, who were also coming to the planning meetings and were bringing various useful suggestions. Finally, the Full Redemption Christian Ministry Inc. started in 2001 with a three-day crusade from October 25th to October 27th at Oko Oba, Orile Agege, Lagos. The church pastors and leaders whom God touched their hearts motivated their members for publicity for the crusade, including publicities done on two radio stations.

Two of the church leaders were so benevolent to Pastor Adu, with one of them coming with his church choir for the three days and also giving a pulpit for the program. The other leader gave a generator and public address system for two months, and some church workers were to be with the church for the first two Sundays of worship. Some of the workers were P.A. system operators; others were ushers. The attendance on the first day of the crusade was 119. Notable miracles happened the first day and throughout the days of the crusade. On Sunday, October 28, 2001, Full Redemption Christian Ministry International was finally inaugurated, with 47 members.

The church’s vision is based on Obadiah verse 17. “But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness, and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.

” The branch of the church that became the headquarters today was planted in Egan-Igando in 2002, in Upward Nursery and Pry School at Odunayo Street, by the Igando Divisional Police Station. The church was officially registered as ‘Full Redemption Christian Ministry Int’l’ as a non-profit organisation under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. And in 2003, the church moved from the nursery school to her permanent site, now the headquarters, at No. 3/5 Olatunde Olowu Street, LASU-Igando Motorway, Olowo Ila Bus Stop. Egan-Igando, Alimosho LGA, Lagos. Nigeria, Today, the church (now known as the FULL REDEMPTION HOLINESS CHURCH OF GOD) has branches in Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, and Kebbi States in Nigeria. It also has branches in the Republic of Benin, Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, and beyond.

About the Set Man

Biography of Pastor Matthew Oluwadare Adu
He was born in Ilawe, Ekiti State, on January 9, 1954. From age twelve, he did his confirmation in the Catholic Church and became a church server, in the days of white priests. On December 24, 1978, he heard the gospel and gave his life to Jesus Christ. Not quite long after, his passion for evangelism and prayers became noticeable to people. In his quest to know more, having had an encounter that led to his sanctification experience in April 1980, he joined a Bible-believing interdenominational ministry (which later became a full church) for their weekly meetings: Monday Bible study and Thursday Faith School, as it was called then (they were not holding Sunday services then). He later founded the Tabon-tabon witnessing team, an evangelistic outreach. God used this group to win many souls in the Agege area, some of whom are doing well for God in different churches today.

Following a strong persecution in the church he was attending then, he was counselled to leave the church to avoid bitterness against his persecutors, who would stop at nothing to make him stop going to the Bible study and disband the evangelistic outreach. The evangelistic outreach grew bigger in the middle of 1980 when it metamorphosed into a ministry called The Christian Called Out Ministry, Agege, holding Bible study and revival hour and coming together on Sundays for only Sunday school before going out for soulwinning. In 1983, this evangelical ministry he started was later merged with the other ministry he was attending, and the interdenominational ministry later became a church. God used this church to groom and prepare him for the days ahead.

Having served in various leadership capacities and levels coupled with divine dealings, the Lord empowered him and moved him into the healing and deliverance ministry, with notable results in many places he was posted to and invited to minister. Many difficult places were taken over by the gospel, and those held bound by the devil were released through his ministry. He struggled with the call from the Lord to start a new ministry, even after many confirmations from different mature believers and ministers of God. At last, in October 2001, he yielded to the will and call of God to carry out the assignment given to him, and the church ‘Full Redemption’ was born.

Beyond his pastoral duties, Pastor Adu is also a prolific author, focusing on themes of deliverance, holiness, and Christian living.
